Not all fat is 'bad'. In fact, system need fat to aid nutrient impregnation. It's just a case of choosing the 'good' extra weight. Replace saturated fats and trans fats with monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats. Realize that some find these good fats in nuts, olive oil, tuna, salmon, peanut butter and soybeans.
